Led by our Trillium Principal Herald, the Ealdormere College of Heralds (ECoH) is composed of people from across the kingdom to support heraldic activities, including submitting names, devices and badges, providing training in heraldry, voice heraldry, court heraldry and ceremonies, heraldic display, and other heraldic research. Anyone who practices the art of heraldry is known as a herald (lowercase). Within the college, however, there are several ranks of herald including:

• Pursuivant-in-Training - A new herald who is learning the proverbial ropes. Typically these trainee pursuivants are mentored by an experienced herald.
• Pursuivant - After completing their training, a Pursuivant-in-Training becomes a full pursuivant.
• Herald (upper case) - A Herald (upper case) is a Kingdom or Society level herald, or someone who has been granted this title by Trillium Herald for their great journeyman level knowledge and contribution to the heraldic arts. The title is often used with a descriptive reference, indicating the specific office held. As an example, Green Mantle Herald is the Ealdormere Submissions Herald.
• Herald Extraordinary (HE) - The Rank of Herald Extraordinary(HE) is a Rank bestowed upon a senior Herald of the Kingdom to recognize their extreme service to the College of Arms. (See below for more information).

When a herald holds a heraldic office, they will use either their own heraldic rank, or the rank of the office, whichever is greater. For example, the submissions herald in Ealdormere is Green Mantle Herald, and is called Herald even if the person who holds the office is a pursuivant. By the same token, a Baronial Pursuivant would be called a Baronial Herald if their personal rank warranted it.

All Senior Staff Heralds must report to the Trillium Herald on or before January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1. Reports are submitted via an online report.

Trillium Herald - Magistra Nika Dmitrieva doch' Zvezdina (H) Trillium Principal Herald supervises deputies and territorial heralds to ensure the smooth functioning of heraldry in Ealdormere. The responsibilities and restrictions governing such oversight is also governed by kingdom law and custom. This includes the responsibility for the warranting and training of appropriate heraldic officers for all necessary positions and sufficient to ensure that the customary range of heraldic services is easily available in all parts of the kingdom. The Principal Herald is authorized to determine what heraldic titles will be submitted for registration and by which officers they will be used in the kingdom and all its subsidiary branches. Trillium Herald also manages the user-access to the Kingdom Online System for Commentary and Response (OSCAR).

Inland Seas Herald - Lord Matthäus Lindenhayn von Schaffhausen (H) The Trillium Herald’s drop-dead deputy (and sometimes approved successor).

Silver Wolf Herald - Duchess Rylyn Buchannan (HE) The Herald who most recently stepped down as Trillium Principal Herald. Silver Wolf provides support to the College of Heralds, and becomes Trillium Emeritus

Special Projects Deputy - Master Brand Thorwaldsen (HE) The deputy herald tasked with special projects of the College.

Green Mantle Herald - Baron Jørgen Lennertson (H) The Herald responsible for the Submissions Team. Green Mantle Herald maintains a repository of submission forms and supporting documentation necessary for the maintenance of the submissions process in their kingdom.

Calygreyhound Herald - The Honourable Lady Gwendolyn of Aldburg (P) The Herald responsible for the maintenance of the Ealdormere Order of Precedence.

Pentland Herald - Lord Seamus Gunne of Ealdormere (P) The Herald responsible for field heraldry, including Crown Tourney heraldry.

Bucina Herald - Duchess Rylyn Buchannan (HE) The Herald responsible for assistance and fostering heraldic education.

Red Escutcheon Pursuivant - Meister Dietrich von Sachsen (H) A deputy of Bucina Herald, Red Escutcheon is responsible for armourial education.

Afon Fawr Herald - Duke Finvarr de Taahe (H) A deputy of Bucina Herald, Afon Fawr is responsible for assisting with and fostering the education of name research.

Rouring Pursuivant - Lady Isabella von Sachsen (P) A deputy of Bucina Herald, Rouring is responsible for voice heraldry education.

Stave Pursuivant - Master Percival de la Rocque (HE) The Pursuivant responsible for fostering and responding to questions/inquiries regarding heraldic display.

Seeblatt Pursuivant - Lord Jotun-Bjorn (P) The Pursuivant responsible for communication with members regarding their heraldic submissions.

Bee Herald - Dame Sciath ingen Chaennaig (H) The Pursuivant responsible for the Ealdormere College of Heralds website. Bee Pursuivant often works with the Lord Clerk-Register, and Calygreyhound to coordinate information and continuity between websites.

Plein Chemin Pursuivant - Þyri the Spinner (P) The Pursuivant responsible for developing and supporting disabled heralds in Ealdormere.

Bonne Signe Herald - Mistress Annabelle Makmyllane (P) The Pursuivant responsible for developing and supporting silent heraldry for Ealdormerean courts.

Trillium Signet - Mistress Matilda of Swynford While not a titled Herald or Pursuivant, the Trillium Signet, as the head of the Ealdormere Scribal College, is a senior member of the College of Heralds and a member of the Trillium staff.

Privy Seal - Mistress Christiana Macnamara
While not a titled Herald or Pursuivant, the Privy Seal is responsible for the maintenance of the Scroll of Honour and the Boke of Reigns.

Gopher Herald - Vacant The administrative assistant to the Trillium Herald and/or Green Mantle.

Golden Otter Pursuivant - Vacant The Pursuivant responsible for the publication of the Ealdormere Heralds Quarterly newsletter.

Wolf’s Tooth Macer - Vacant A College of Heralds titled position held by a youth under the age of 18. The Youth Macer is responsible for fostering heraldry among the youth of our Kingdom.

The herald-at-large is one who serves as a herald but does not hold a specific office. These heralds contribute to the smooth function of events, both in terms of labour and ceremony. Heralds-at-large report directly to Trillium Principal Herald. A Herald-at-Large may focus on one or more aspects of heraldry, including but not limited to: Book Heraldry/Submissions, Court Heraldry, Field/Tournament Heraldry, Courtesy & Precedence, Training and Education, Heraldry Research, and Ceremony.

The Heralds-at-Large of Ealdormere

The Rank of Herald Extraordinary(HE) is a Rank bestowed upon a senior Herald of the Kingdom to recognize their extreme service to the College of Arms. It is exceptional in all the Society in that it is one of the few awards to not be the right of the Crown to bestow. This is an award given by the Kingdom's Principal Herald on behalf of the Kingdom's College of Heralds or the Laurel Sovereign on behalf of the Society College of Arms.

The award enables the recipient to register their own personal heraldic Title. After that is registered the Herald Extraordinary is then referred to as any other Herald of the College by their Name and title. For example, Magistra Nika Dmitrieva doch' Zvezdina has the personal title of Rouge Estoile Herald Extraordinary. She may be referred to in the College as Nika Rouge Estoile.

The Rank dates back to the Letter of Acceptances and Returns from July 1981 and was created by Master Wilhelm von Schlüssel, then Laurel King of Arms.
