Combat Archery is a subset of of Armoured Combat where the some of the combattants are using low-poundage bows and crossbows that fire padded arrows or bolts at other armoured combattants. Combat Archery Siege Engines such as ballistae and scorpions are not combat archery, but under Siege Combat.

Combat Archery is only done during melee combat situations; it is not used in single combat. It is most commonly employed when Ealdormere goes to War at Pennsic, but some events do allow Combat Archery at home.

In Ealdormere, a fighter must have their primary authorization in One-handed weapon and shield before they can get a Combat Archery authorization.
