Ysabel Hudon
Persona
Ysabel Hudon (also known as Yael bat Shiloh mibeit haMaayan) is a Jewish woman living the in the mid-15th century. Ysabel's family is from Northern France, but fled to Provence during her childhood due to expulsions of the Jews in various areas of Europe.
Ysabel is an active candle-maker, knitter, and sewer, depending on rules set by the monarchy at the time. Ysabel likes to join in occasional singing, and watching others dance. She's working on her weaving skills, and loves watching others do handiwork as well.
Like most Jews of the time, she is literate, and is good with numbers.

SCA History
Ysabel joined the SCA in the Fall of 2023, attending her first feast in November: the Feast of the Hare. She participated in a largesse tournament held at this event, and was surprised to win third place.
In 2024, she's attended:
- Feast of Lombardy (worked the gate and received her Bunny Tail)
- the SCADEIB Collegium 2024
- Practicum 2024: Back to Basics in February (hosted an A&S Display)
- Kingdom A&S 2024
- Paardenbloem Festival
- Fruits of our Labour
- Brawl in the Fall
She's often been found at fencing practice, and has even attended dancing practice!
Interests
- Chandlery (candlemaking)
Ysabel's interests focus mainly on fibre arts, and she's busily working her way through several new crafts. She's done several types of weaving, some costumes, and is learning to knit. She would love to learn to weave or knit tapestries, but is deciding on medium.
She likes to learn about others' A&S skills, and can often be found sitting next to people with an unfamiliar fibre art form, working on her own historical knitting research, or planning something A&S related.
Ysabel has been lately experimenting with chandlery. She makes candles from beeswax exclusively: dipped, rolled, and poured.
