Meredyth Llwellyn

Persona

Meredyth Llwellyn (she/her), born in 1431, is the youngest child of seven and the seventh daughter of an English gentleman in the mid 15th century. Meredyth was named after her father and his ancient Welsh heritage, in place and in honour of the son her late mother was never able to bear for her husband. With the family lands entailed to the male line, upon her father's future demise the unmarried Meredyth and her siblings lived in fear of being left destitute. Therefore, the ever-enterprising and determined Meredyth started a cottage business with unmarried and widowed women from her parish, providing higher-end baked goods such as fantasies for feasts, as well as celebration and wedding cakes to the merchant class, under the aegis of a male nom de plume, “Franklin Baxter”.
