King Evander, hand set to virtue, and Marioun, hospitality and heart overflowing.

Evander and Marioun issued a royal challenge to fighters and fencers. At each event, each combatant received tokens based on their fighting awards: a member of the Order of the Chivalry or a Master of Defense started with two white tokens, a member of the Order of Thorbjorn's Hammer started with three red tokens, and all other combatants started with five plain tokens. Combatants could challenge up or laterally, and the loser of the fight gave one of their tokens to the winner. Tokens were collected and tallied at the end of each event; this challenge took place at events across the duration of their reign. At the end of their reign, Sir Tristham was recognized for his prowess in armoured combat, and Mistress Kersteken was recgonized for her prowess in fencing.

During this reign, the children of Ealdormere and those young at heart were given cards with which to play a game styled “Beasts of War”. The cards had wolves, boars, and unicorns on them, and could be used to play “rock, paper, scissors” or similar games. Special cards with heraldry were able to be collected as well.

In response to many of the issues in the Society around the time of their reign, Evander and Marioun issued a Declaration of Virtues. It described the values of the Kingdom of Ealdormere, and all members of the populace were invited to sign this declaration to publicly add their support to it.

“These are the virtues of the Kingdom of Ealdormere to which we aspire and strive in thought, word, and deed:

Honour: In all our acts, we strive to be true to the ideals that are the foundation of our Society and to keep our word.

Inclusiveness: We welcome those of all backgrounds, regardless of ethnicity, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious beliefs, or abilities, and will endeavour to make all spaces open and safe for all.

Kindness: We strive to be generous and considerate, breaking down barriers, drawing strength from our community, rejecting bigotry, combatting hate.

Above all, Equity and Justice, respecting the rights of others, giving each person their due in keeping with the laws and customs of Society and Kingdom. There shall be no place within our halls for those who by their words or actions reject these laws and customs, regardless of rank or status.

We who here witness this document hold ourselves to this pledge.
