Der Welfengau

The Canton of Der Welfengau is one of the two Cantons located in the Barony of Ramshaven. Encompassing the mundane lands of the Region of Guelph, Der Welfengau was founded in A.S. 20 as the Shire of der Welfengau prior to the formation of the Barony of Ramshaven.

Origin of the Name

The root of Der Welfengau comes from the German “Welf”, referring to the House of Welf (historically rendered in English as Guelf or Guelph… hence the connection to the City.) Many German Princes, Emperors, and later British Monarchs came from the House of Welf.
