Quartermaster
A Quartermaster is an officer of a branch who acts as a deputy of the Exchequer. The Quartermaster is responsible for the storage and maintenance of physical assets of the group. As an officer, the Quartermaster must be a paid member.
The Quartermaster position is typically a low commitment position with brief periods of activity.
Job Description
The Quartermaster is responsible for:
- Maintaining an inventory and submitting it to the Exchequer at the end of every year
- Maintaining an accounting of the disposition of items in the inventory (losses, acquisitions)
- Checking equipment out to members for use
- Checking equipment back into storage when returned, ensuring that all items are returned in good shape
While some groups may be moving to third party storage facilities, traditionally, the inventory is stored at the Quartermaster's home.
