====== Persona Page Walkthrough ======
This is a walkthrough for creating a persona page for the fictional person Lord Richard Lionheart. You may follow these steps to create your own persona page (substituting your name for his).
Please Note: Due to increased spam, new users must [[tutorials:account_request_form|request an account]] before they can edit or add pages. If you do not yet have an account, you must do that first.
===== Step 1: Create your Page =====
Enter the following URL into your browser, replacing the "your_name_here" section with your own persona name:
https://wiki.ealdormere.ca/doku.php?id=people:your_name_here
**Note:** Your persona name should be in lowercase, separated by underscores, and without accents.
Go to that URL. Then, click 'create'.
Alternatively, enter people:your_name_here into the search bar and then click 'create'.
===== Step 2: Edit your Page =====
Born 1412 in Domremy, France to farmers. My tasks were to care for the animals. When there was free time another local girl and I would head to le Bois-Chenu. Over the years we bonded while I listened to her stories and practiced sword work with sticks.
At the age of 17, I left with Jehanne on her journey to Chinon to look after her horse and be a female companion amongst soldiers. There were many adventures that followed. The battle of Orleans and watching her stand beside King Charles VII when he was crowned.
One night in Compiègne, Jehanne fell off her horse and was captured by Burgundians. She yelled at me to save her horse, ride hard and to never look back. That’s what I did, hearing hooves thundering behind me. After a while I couldn’t hear the hooves and slowed down not knowing which direction we were heading.
With my animal knowledge there was always work available on farms and with travelers in exchange for food, lodging, clothing and company. It was interesting learning about the many countries I travelled through. At times it was necessary to dress like a male for safety. At one city a man with many unusual animals had me care for them. When he was leaving, I was asked to keep caring for the animals during the travels. Little did I know that the next journey would be by ship. So far, I have seen, four-legged spotted animals with really long necks; big animals with big ears and a long nose that gets it food; large cats that are black, stripped, dotted or have long hair around its head. The funny animals have long tails and hop; fuzzy tree hugger that sleeps; long tails and long mouth with sharp teeth and a little animal that has a tail and nose the same size with a hairy body.
We have landed on another island and am getting my land legs back. Let’s see what adventures will be found here…women rarely speak, the men are grumpy, meals and sleeping are on the floor. Interestingly, the inside walls slide and are made of wood and paper.
See [[wiki:syntax|syntax]] for Wiki syntax.
===== Step 3: Add Tags to add the User to 'People' Lists =====
Richard is a 12th century English Crusader. He is also a resident of the Canton of Eoforwic in the Barony of Septentria.
He adds the following tags to the bottom of his page:
{{tag>people:personas_by_century:12th_century people:personas_by_culture:english people:personas_by_culture:crusader
people:people_by_location:eoforwic people:people_by_location:septentria}}
This will add his name to these auto-generated lists.
===== Step 4: Upload desired images =====
Click 'Save' to save the page.
In the top right hand corner (under the Search box), select 'Media Manager'. Select the upload tab and upload your files.
**Do not upload copyrighted images without the owner's permission.**
Note: Before uploading heraldry, please check that it doesn't already exist in the Media > Heraldry > Personal_Heraldry folder.
[{{tutorials:demo_upload.jpg|Select the upload tab, then select the files to upload and click upload}}]
===== Step 5: Get the filename =====
Clicking on the uploaded file will being up the file info. The title of the file (including namespace) is required to link the image to your persona page.
[{{tutorials:demo_save.jpg|}}]
===== Step 6: Replace the Populace Badge =====
Replace the default template image with your custom image. For example, we changed:
[{{media:heraldry:branch_heraldry:ealdormere_wolfium_badge.png|You can use the populace badge if you do not have heraldry.}}]
with
[{{people:richard_lionheart.jpg?250px|//Lion rampant contourné.//}}]
